The 2008 Championship Rules have been updated.

  1. The start rule was revised to allow any type of exit from the start cylinder however, the scorer selects the best scoring valid start. All other starts will be ignored.


  2. The finish cylinder minimum height and related penalty have been removed from finish rules and task rules. The finish cylinder must simply be penetrated to achieve a finish.


  3. The scorer will use the best available data to determine if restricted or prohibited airspace has been entered. Entry into such airspace results in a DNC for the day.


  4. Gaps in the tracklog will penalized by landout if the scorer determines that the contestant could have entered restricted or prohibited airspace during the tracklog gap.


  5. Editorial improvements made to rules concerning rule alterations and rescoring issues.
